Mr. Shontae S. Graham, MHS, EdD(c), is a faith-driven leader, educator, and community advocate bringing over three decades of experience across social services, higher education, and ministry-informed leadership to his role as Interim Executive Director of The Mix at Arbor Place in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. A proud product of North Philadelphia, his life’s work has been shaped by a deep commitment to serving communities, developing people, and creating pathways to purpose.
Mr. Graham’s foundation in service began early in Philadelphia, where his faith and community experiences helped shape his lifelong dedication to uplifting others. As a young man, he participated in missionary work in Nova Scotia, Canada, and later emerged as a keynote speaker at the Pennsylvania Baptist Congress Convention. His early exposure to ministry, community, and leadership continues to influence his approach to both people and programs.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Edinboro University and his Master of Human Services from Lincoln University. Throughout his career in Philadelphia, Mr. Graham became widely known for his ability to connect with individuals from underserved communities and guide them toward personal and professional transformation.
For over a decade, he served in senior leadership at Philabundance Community Kitchen in Philadelphia, where he helped lead a nationally recognized workforce development program for low- to no-income adults. His work focused not only on job training, but on life transformation, equipping individuals with the tools needed to obtain, retain, and advance in employment. His leadership extended into organizational training, staff development, and cross-departmental impact.
Mr. Graham is also the founder of ProGraham Consultants, where he has worked with nonprofit organizations to create and strengthen programs, improve effectiveness, and better serve their communities. His consulting work reflects his passion for building systems that help organizations operate with clarity, purpose, and impact.
A significant chapter of his leadership includes founding and pastoring Christian Fellowship Interdenominational Tabernacle from January 2013 to December 2016. During this time, he provided spiritual leadership, delivered impactful teaching, and offered pastoral care, helping individuals grow in faith while addressing real-life challenges with practical and biblical guidance.
In addition to his nonprofit leadership, Mr. Graham has over a decade of experience as an adjunct faculty member, teaching psychology, sociology, and human services across multiple institutions. His teaching emphasizes real-world application, identity development, and preparing students to enter helping professions with both competence and compassion.
Since transitioning into higher education, he has served in several student-facing leadership roles, currently as Associate Director of Career Development at York College of Pennsylvania. In this capacity, he has mentored students, built partnerships, and designed programming that connects education to meaningful career outcomes.
Mr. Graham relocated to Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 2021, bringing his Philadelphia-rooted perspective and community-centered approach to a new region. Now, in stepping into leadership at The Mix, he describes the opportunity as one that places him back on purpose. His vision is grounded in creating safe, empowering spaces for youth and families, while strengthening the organization’s impact across the Lancaster community.
